This was a fun experiment for me. I didn’t know how dulce de leche would work in a drink. I had recently been to Miami at a random bar where they had done something similar to whiskey. Normally with full proof spirits, the fat separates from the spirit. With fernet, it blended completely like iced coffee. The mint and bitter flavors immediately mellow and soften with the dulce. The sweet and spicy nature of the angels envy pairs well and then the soft tropical banana cordial rounds out the entire cocktail. Stone fruit and citrus bitters enhance the integrity of the cocktail giving it further depth.
